Part One: This Lazy Girl's Guide to Wine, The Series

Let's talk about Rose'. If Red Wine and White Wine had a baby, they would name it Rose'.  It's brighter in flavor than Red, but similar in some ways to White.  Rose' is a perfect gateway for novice wine drinkers who have tried White Wines, but aren't quite ready to dive into Reds.  Besides, it's Pink, how can you go wrong?

Rose' is made by the skin contact method.  When black-skinned grapes are crushed  the skins are allowed to remain in contact with the juice for a short period of time. This results in the lovely pinkish color.  Types of Rose' can range in flavor from dry to sweet. It can pair well with many types of meals. Pizza, steak, chicken, bacon, fruits and veggies.  The options are endless. In my opinion, the only thing Rose' isn't a friend of  is dessert. Pairing sweet desserts with Rose' tend to leave it tasting bitter. So, do us all a favor and don't disrespect the wine or the sweet treat by pairing them together.

Rose' invokes images of summer for me.  Picnics, parks, BBQ's, outdoor concerts, impromptu back deck parties in the middle of the week. Even though summer is officially over, there is no reason not to share a chilled bottle with your girlfriends on a beautiful afternoon.

A good Rose' doesn't have to be expensive, a bottle can cost less than $10, but usually ranges in between $10 - $20.  I've tried 2 from Winc Wines.

I've also had some very good options from Trader Joe's

This price point is perfect because it leaves a girl enough money for a great collection of stemware. As a girl who loves her accessories, a great glass of wine needs an equally great glass to drink it out of.

Bottoms up!
